Organized Creativity Breeds Opportunity
by Charlon Bobo

I’ve never met a Lifestyle CEO who lacked creativity. In fact, creativity seems to be an innate quality of successful entrepreneurs. The ability to think on our feet and give birth to innovative ideas and solutions for customers, our clients and ourselves places us in a position to not only be of service, but also to benefit from opportunities that naturally present themselves.

The more creative you are, the more opportunities come your way. I don’t know why it works, it just does. Maybe it’s because as you “exercise” your creative muscles, you begin to see potential in everything. As an entrepreneur you are the creator of something new and as you maximize the benefits of each new creative experience, you use each to your highest advantage. This gives birth to supreme confidence as a woman and a business owner.

As entrepreneurs, we are accustomed to doing things ourselves, so much so that we rely on ourselves alone to provide the creative juice that makes businesses grow. Don’t fall into this trap! Creativity is multi-faceted and comes from many sources.

Innate Creativity – This is your natural, effortless inherent gift that “waits in the wings” to be asked to assist you when you are looking for answers, resolve or a new approach. It is silent and polite and always waits to be asked. So, ask for inspiration and it will come!

Group Creativity – Three or more people meet in person or virtually to discuss a specific situation. By brainstorming and giving voice to every idea that presents itself, the creativity and innovation flows freely.

Objective Creativity –Ask a trusted colleague or friend to meet with you (in person or virtually) and describe a circumstance to them. Ask them to verbalize everything that crosses their mind. This gives you amazing insight, clears blockages you may have and provides a fresh perspective from which to create a workable solution.

Passive Creativity – When you’ve done everything in your power to resolve a situation, let go of your attachment to the outcome. While this is not the typical direct, forward-focused assertive approach to finding answers, it works by allowing something outside of yourself to go to work for you and hand-deliver the answers as bursts of inspiration!

Active Creativity – This type of creativity is the approach of most people when trying to find resolve. Its components are assertiveness and a focused intent to addressing a problem and finding a solution NOW.

Remember: What is not apparent initially will reveal itself eventually. Granted, most of us don’t have the luxury of time when presented with a circumstance that requires our immediate attention. However, even the smallest bits of time reveal natural solutions of their own if we let go of the belief that everything must be resolved RIGHT NOW.

Take your time and engage all of your creative options to discover the many ways available to you to address the circumstances in your life and your business.
