We're only a few weeks in and I'm already wearing flip
flops and shorts even though it's still 50º. Springtime always changes my mood for the
better. I become motivated to freshen up my environment and fill it with
exciting new things. I'm also inspired to make positive changes to renew my
life, replacing the stale elements with invigorating opportunities that will
revitalize my existence and propel me forward to the next exciting thing God
has in store for me. In
other words, the freshness of spring inspires me to get out there and take a
few new risks and see what happens next!
During this month, can you steal some moment to contemplate how this
Spring will be the best one ever? What can you do differently, even if it
involves taking a little risk, than you did
last Spring to make your life better, even in the smallest way?
This month, take Just A Moment to:
1. Walk. Walking improves health even in the most unhealthy person. The
weather is perfect this time of year and it will be fun to hear the birds
chirping and see the buds exploding on the trees.
2. Do Something You've Never Done Before. Ever take a belly dancing
class? What about learning how to make an exotic dish? Try painting a mural
in your bathroom or plant a new kind of plant in your garden and watching it
grown under your nurturing hand.
3. Use Fresh Herbs. I have dried ones in my pantry, but more often than
not, I use fresh herbs. Fresh basic and thyme makes a tossed salad seem like
it was just plucked from the garden. A bunch of rosemary, thyme and sage
stuffed inside a roasting chicken, along with a peeled mango, make it takes
succulent and green. A sprig of mint and one slice each of lemon and
cucumber give a new meaning to "fresh" glass of water. You can't
make a mistake with an herb and they are the perfect way to welcome the
Spring season to your dining table.
