Take A Chance!! -- Lifestyle CEO Style!
Welcome to Spring '06 and all the new and exciting things that come with
the beginning of a new season! This month's cover reflects the exhilaration
a young boy feels as he releases his hands from the swing chains and soars
through the air. His older sister is there to steady him, but if you look
closely at his smile, you can almost hear him squeal with joy at having
discovered he is "big enough" to swing high up in the air without
holding on. Of course he knows the chains are still there if he needs them,
but in the meantime, what fun it is to let go for a moment and see how it
feels -- however briefly -- to fly.
This month, I encourage you to tap into your inner risk-taker and eradicate
the fears that are keeping you from taking a calculated risk for your own good
and the good of those around you. Start by listening to some of the advice,
tips and insights provided by the experts who have joined me over the months
at the Lifestyle CEO Internet Radio Show.
From transforming a basement business into a multi-million dollar empire, to
filling customer orders between breast or bottle feedings, my show has
something for every woman managing both home and business.
Terri Bynoe's article
helps us understand the importance of allowing our children to expand their
horizons by trying new things. Marcia Davis Taylor's inspiring story of stepping
out on faith to relocate her family from a heavily populated metropolitan
area to rural South Carolina lets us know that change often means taking
risks, and that the outcome can be beautiful. And if you've been a couch
potato all winter, reading Carrie Myers Smith's adventures
as a first-time skier will inspire you to change all that. Feeling like
taking a safer risk that doesn't require you to leave the house? Try using
40 cloves of garlic (yes, that's 4-0) in a new chicken
recipe. Or use some fresh herbs to make a simple herbal
massage oil. How about joining me at the newly launched Lifestyle
CEO Book Club as we share insights about a book based on the premise
that successful entrepreneurs don't crave security nearly as much as they
crave freedom. Or just sit back and be inspired by this month's Lifestyle
CEO To Know, who is taking a chance that her patent pending edible paint
invention will help children around the globe have non-toxic fun while they
explore their creative side. And for your
business, Charlon Bobo lays out her 10 tangible benefits
of taking measured risks, while the business
department provides tips to put yourself "out there" to the media using
well prepared press releases. And while you're taking all these exciting
new chances, take just a moment to contemplate
the change of seasons and how you will make this Spring the best one yet!
