CHILD EDUCATION, HEALTH & DEVELOPMENT
Karen N. Davis, President, Davis Education Consultants, Maryland
Karen is an elementary school teacher, and the owner of Davis Education Consultants, which builds bridges between parents and teachers to maximize the educational process for children. Karen was widowed several years ago when she, her husband
of 15 years and their son were involved in an automobile
accident in which Karen's husband was killed. As part of Karen's
mission to ensure that her son receives an excellent education, Karen earned her Standard Professional Teacher's Certificate so that she would be better able to interpret and utilize the educational resources available to them. Through the process, she came to realize that while parents want desperately to narrow the chasm between parents and teachers, they frequently are at a loss as to how to do that. Through her consulting services, Karen provides one-on-one coaching for parents, helping them navigate the educational system and participate more actively in their child's education at all levels. Karen lives in Maryland with her son and their dog Lexie.
